Understanding Grief

What it does

Grief support offers space to explore the feelings, memories, and changes that follow a loss. Grief can include sadness, anger, numbness, relief, or many feelings at once. There is no single right way to grieve, and support does not mean forgetting the person or experience that matters to you.

Why it may help you

It may help when loss feels isolating, daily routines have become difficult, or you want a place to speak openly without pressure to move on. Together you can explore what support and connection feel meaningful now.

Practical support, not more pressure.

A look at helpful approaches and patterns this work aims to move away from. This is not a claim about other therapists.

What we work toward

  • Make room for your feelings without judgment

  • Explore meaningful ways to remember

  • Find support for everyday life after loss

What we move away from

  • Rushing grief to meet someone else's timeline

  • Expecting grief to follow a fixed set of stages

  • Treating continued sadness as a failure to heal

What a conversation may look like

A conversation may make space for a memory, an emotion, or a difficult anniversary. You might explore a way to honor your loss and identify a manageable step for caring for yourself or connecting with someone you trust.

Your goals, circumstances, and service fit are discussed with Nina. Outcomes vary and no specific result is guaranteed.
